AMBROSIA 2nd review meeting

The second review meeting of the AMBROSIA project took place in Brussels on October 3, 2024. This important meeting was attended by all project participants as well as the European Commission project officer and two external evaluators. The main focus of the meeting was to evaluate the progress made in the first 18 months and to develop valuable recommendations for the next phase.

During the review, the work plan, deliverables and milestones of the project were thoroughly assessed. The external evaluators and the project officer provided critical insights and constructive feedback to ensure that the next phase of AMBROSIA remains on track and continues to achieve the ambitious goals of Horizon 2022. As AMBROSIA enters its next phase, the team is encouraged by the feedback received and committed to continue driving innovation and collaboration to achieve project success.

WinPhoS @ 14th International Conference on Metamaterials, Photonic Crystals and Plasmonics

We are glad to share that Mr. Stelios Simos and Mrs. Lamprini Damakoudi represented the WinPhoS group at the 14th @International Conference on Metamaterials, Photonic Crystals and Plasmonics (META) in Toyama, Japan.

Mr. Stelios Simos presented his work on "Self-referenced integrated plasmo-photonic sensor for temperature compensated refractive index sensing measurements", and Mrs. Lamprini Damakoudi presented her work "Integrated Plasmo-Photonic Bimodal Interferometer for Temperature Sensing".

These works were supported by European H2020 project AMBROSIA (no. 101093166).

WinPhoS @ European Silicon Photonics Alliance Summer School

WinPhoS research group members, Lamprini Damakoudi and Antonios Prapas, attended the 9th ePIXfab - the European Silicon Photonics Alliance Summer School organised and hosted by CORNERSTONE at the University of Southampton, in June 24-28, 2024.

During the school, our members had the chance to attend a series of presentations by experts in the field of photonics, to take part in laboratory and clean room tours and to present part of their work on the AMBROSIA project in the poster session.

Our mask design seminars have been completed successfully!

We are delighted to announce the successful conclusion of our 10-day Mask Design Seminars organized by the WinPhos Research Team (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki) in collaboration with the University of Ioannina on WinPhos research team premises (10th km Thessaloniki-Thermi).

Over the past 10 days, participants have:

🔹 Gained in-depth knowledge on fabrication information and procedures.

🔹 Engaged in hands-on workshops, mastering the art of mask design using OptoDesigner software.

A big thank you to all the participants for their enthusiasm and commitment, and to our expert instructors for sharing their invaluable knowledge.

We look forward to organizing more such insightful events in the future. Stay tuned for more opportunities to learn with us!
